	FLOWERS FOR THE FOUNDER October 15, at the immediate 20th anniversary from the date of Academician Michail Alekseevich Lavrentiev demise, the chiefs of the SB RAS have placed flowers colours on the monument to the founder of the Siberian Branch at the center of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok.

	GENERAL MEETING OF THE NOVOSIBIRSK SCIENTIFIC CENTER OF THE SB RAS October 12 the General Meeting of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS has been held at the House of Scientists of the Siberian Branch. The problems concerning the state and prospects for the development of social and industrial infrastructure of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok have been considered at the Meeting.

	PHOTO-EXHIBITION "ARCHIVE OF the "Itogi" October 16 at the Exhibition Hall of the "Open Society" Institute (The Soros Foundation) an exhibition "Archive of the "Itogi" has been opened within the framework of the festival "Art-Novosibirsk". At the exhibition the works of the photographers of the magazine "Itogi" ("Totals") Alexandr Sorin, Max Novikov, Ruslan Yamalov, Pavel Gorshkov are presented. There are reportings and portraits that were published in the known magazine at different times.
	RUSSIA: THE THIRD MILLENNIUM Under the initiative of the creative group of the magazine "Rodina" ("Motherland") the first issue of new edition "Russia: The Third Millennium. The Bulletin of Actual Forecasts" has been published. The Russian Government and the Administration of the President of Russia are founders of the edition. The edition is quarterly; it is dispatched to the chiefs of Federal bodies, legislative assemblies and mass media, to the governors, to the political and business elite, to the Embassies of foreign states.
