	THE HERO OF THE DAY March 6, the first diploma and silver breastplate "Honorary Doctor of the SB RAS" have been handed to archeologist Hermann Partzinger of Germany.
	TREASURES OF SCYTHIAN BURIAL Honorary Doctor of the SB RAS, German archeologist Hermann Partzinger is telling (in Russian, which is especially pleasant!) about cooperation with Siberian archeologists and about unique finds in the last summer: within one of the tumuli over Tuva territory an elitist burial of the epoch of early nomads has been revealed, with more than 9300 gold items not counting beads...
	SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS-2002 Resolution of the Presidium of the SB RAS authorizes the list of scientific as well as scientific and technical meetings, conferences, symposiums, seminars and schools of 2002.
	FOR THE SAKE OF FOUR STATES Eco-regional approach to reservation of biovariety of the plant and animal life of our planet is realized today through the concept development for the project of transboundary biospheric territory creation at Mountaineous Altai, which is of interest of Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. It was a spoken about at the international organizational conference that has been opened March 11 at the Novosibirsk Academgorodok.
	RECOGNITION OF CONTRIBUTION The Republic Buryatiya State Prize is awarded to the scientists of the BSC of the SB RAS.
	HOUSEWARMING ON THE DAY OF RUSSIAN SCIENCE The "SiS" has already informed that on the occasion of the Day of Russian Science the Council of Young Scientists of Kuzbass held a competition of scientific works of young scientists. Programmer of the Institute of Coal and Coal Chemistry of the SB RAS Igor Kuchin has become a winner of the competition. In the field of engineering his work "Obtaining of the stabilizers of polymeric materials" has won the first prize, with delivery of the diploma and the keys of one-room flat to him. 	THE FIRST DEFENCES AT THE NEW DISSERTATION COUNCIL Since 2001 new dissertation council on the scientific degrees of Doctor Sc. and Candidate Sc. in the field of engineering began working in Yakutsk.
	INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES: FROM SYSTEMATIZATION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS UP TO SOLVING THE PROBLEMS OF GENETICS At the presentation of applied information technologies held at the Irkutsk Institute of System Dynamics and Control Theory of the SB RAS a work carried out under the direction of Doctor Sc. (Physics and Mathematics), Professor Vladimir Martianov has been especially noted.
	PROBLEMS OF UDOKAN DEVELOPMENT Traditional Krendelev Scientific Readings have been held at the Chita Institute of Natural Resources of the SB RAS, which were devoted to the problems of the Udokan copper deposit.
	SHALL WE LIVE TO SEE HEYDAY OF RUSSIA? Academician Vladimir Nakoriakov: for the last years it was much succeeded in political merger of Russia. Organization of territorial districts is, certainly, powerful and useful step, after which a hope for "uniform line" in public administration has appeared.

	INTERESTING EXPOSITION Oleg Shabinski is well known in our town photographical artist, "cat portraitist". Exhibition of his works titled "My favourite pets" has been opened on the eve of March 8 in the Winter Garden of the NSC House of Scientists.
