	CONGRATULATIONS ON THE DAY OF RUSSIAN PRESS!
	AWARDS FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS On the eve of New Year the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Victor Tolokonski has handed diplomas and prizes over the post-graduates and young scientists who won the research competition devoted to the 45th anniversary of the SB RAS.

	HOUSING CREDIT FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS At the end of May, 2002 under the initiative of the Head of the Novosibirsk Regional Administration V.Tolokonsky the special order "On the measures for the development of housing construction for young scientists of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS" was adopted. Vice-president of the SB RAS in Economic and Financial Problems tells the readers how this experiment is occurring.
	THE BRITISH INFORMATION CENTER IN NOVOSIBIRSK In March, 2003 an opening of the British Information Center is to be held in Novosibirsk. Within the framework of the new Center it is planned to realize mutually beneficial cooperation between the Novosibirsk and British parties in the field of education and culture.
	THE ACADEMY FOR INDUSTRY At the end of 2002 the solemn ceremony of opening of the automated laser complex for cutting of sheet materials has been held at the Novosibirsk Plant of Chemical Concentrates (NPCC). The scientists of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the SB RAS designed the high-technology laser installation jointly with the specialists of the NPCC.
