	THE DAY OF DEFENDERS OF MOTHERLAND
	EMULATION OF THE INTEGRATION Exit session of the SB RAS Presidium has been held in Yakutsk where a question was considered on the ways of joining of scientific potential in order to solve urgent fundamental and applied problems of the development strategy of the Russian Federation subjects.
	RUSSIAN INVESTORS REQUIRED On the occasion of the Day of Science the Novosibirsk Regional Administration and the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science have held a round-table discussion "Authority - Science - Business" at the Exhibition Center of the Siberian Branch.
	ROLE OF SCIENCE IN INNOVATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF RUSSIA February, 7 press conference devoted to the Day of Russian Science has been held at the Federal District Information Center "Siberia".
	SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE AND SOCIAL BENEFITS Within the framework of numerous events devoted to the Day of Science, a meeting of veterans and young people with the leaders of the Siberian Branch of the RAS has taken place.
	TRIBUTE TO THE HOLIDAY OF SCIENCE On February, 8 the scientists of Omsk, as well as the lecturers of Higher School and representatives of the City and Regional Administration have gathered at the conference hall of the A.S.Pushkin Omsk State Regional Scientific Library to hold scientific conference "Integration of efforts of the Academic subdivisions and Higher Education institutions of Omsk as the major component in the solution of regional problems" devoted to the Day of Russian Science.
	THEY SAW A LOT OF INTERESTING This day more than 250 people have visited the Institute of Cytology and Genetics. Such interest to the Institute is caused by its achievements in biology which impress not only scientists.
	SCIENCE AND EDUCATION IN TRANSBAIKALIA Before the Day of Russian Science, discussion on the state-of-the-art and the problems of scientific researches has been held at the Chita Institute of Natural Resources of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science.
	INFORMATION SEMINAR OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION On February 13, 2003 the information seminar "Scientific policy of the European Union and the EU Sixth Frame Program" has taken place at the Small hall of the House of Scientists of the SB RAS.
	THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH SPACE WILL GROW WITH SIBERIA On February, 14 after visiting Novosibirsk the delegation of representatives of the European Commission in Russia led by the EuroCommission ambassador in our country Richard Right has visited Tomsk.
	SIBERIAN ACCENT IN KAZAKHSTAN The meeting of the Russian - Kazakhstan working group on computing and information technologies has come to the end with concrete project: an agreement is signed on cooperation between the SB RAS Institute of Computational Technologies and the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
	ANNIVERSARY OF THE BOLTZMAN’S EQUATION In December, 2002 the All-Russian seminar "Kinetic theory and dynamics of rarefied gases" was held at the S.S.Kutateladze Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science.
	"GOLD TRACE OF SIBERIA" Under such title a book by Corresponding Member of the RAS V.Lamin is published. In the book the gold mining is described not only for Siberia, but also Ural and Kazakhstan, Alaska and California, other places of America, Australia and Africa.

	COMPETITION IN MEMORY OF ALEXANDER ALEKHIN At the end of 2002 the Great Russian chess player Alexander Aleksandrovich Alekhin would be 110 years old. Large-scale Chess Tournament taken place during two months at the Chess Club of the Siberian Branch of the RAS has been dedicated to this event.
