	WAY OF LIFE IS SCIENTIFIC SEARCH One of significant events of the last year in the life of Director of the Limnologcal Institute of the SB RAS M.Grachev that he has been elected a full member of the Russian Academy of Science. He was born 65 years ago in Moscow. Almost 40 years have passed since he moved to the Novosibirsk Academgorodok. He started from the position of laboratory assistant in NIOC, and then he headed a laboratory in NIBC. Since 1987 M.Grachev is Director of the Limnologcal Institute in Irkutsk.
	SCIENTIFIC SCHOOL OF RUSSIA. RADIOASTROPHYSICAL RESEARCHES OF SOLAR ATMOSPHERE Leading scientific school of Russia (2000-2002, 2003-2005). The founder of the school is Doctor (Engineering), Professor G.Ya.Smolkov of the Radiophysical Observatory of the Institute of Solar and Terrestrial Physics of the SB RAS (Irkutsk).
	ANNIVERSARY OF ACADEMIC SCIENCE IN EASTERN SIBERIA Events devoted to the 55th anniversary of Academic science in Eastern Siberia have been held at the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS. They have been opened with scientific session of the General Meeting of the IrSC "Climate of the Earth: the past, the present, the future".
	WEEKDAYS OF YAKUTSK COSMOPHYSICISTS At the Yu.G.Shafer Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronomy of the SB RAS. (Yakutsk) the scientific researches are carried out in two basic fields such as physics of cosmic rays and physics of circumterrestrial space.
	INFORMATION BOWELS OF KUZBASS The Third Regional Scientific and Practical Conference "Information bowels of Kuzbass" has been held in Kemerovo.
	STAKING ON SCIENCE INTENSIVE BUSINESS Regional scientific and methodical conference "Modern education: innovations and competitiveness" has been held at the Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics (TUCSRE).
	NEW MINERAL IS NAMED IN HONOUR OF SIBERIAN SCIENTIST The next issue of the journal "Canadian Mineralogist" has been put out where an article "Vasilyevite, a new mineral species... " is published.
	FIRSTLINGS OF THE ACADEMY IN NOVOSIBIRSK 60 years ago in the house with columns at number 11 Frunze Street, on the pylon of which there is "Academy of Sciences of the USSR. West Siberian Branch", the large-scale Academic science of Siberia began.
	HISTORY OF ORGANIZING AND DEVELOPMENT OF WEST SIBERIAN BRANCH OF THE USSR AS Today we publish reference data on the history of the organizing and development of the West Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences in 1944-1955 prepared by workers of the Presidium of the WSB USSR AS in 1955.

	"LIVING" GEOLOGICAL PHENOMENA A monograph "Fluid dynamic models of oil and gas pools" (Novosibirsk, Publishing House of the SB RAS, 2003) has been issued.
