	CELEBRATIONS IN ST.-PETERSBURG March, 15 enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the St.-Petersburg Scientific Center of the RAS, devoted to the 75th anniversary of Academician Zh.Alferov was held in Saint Petersburg under the chairmanship of the President of the RAS Academician Yu.Osipov.

	ALEXEI TIKHOMIROV, THE BEST POST-GRADUATE OF THE RAS The Foundation for Assistance to National Science has named the winners of the competition «The Best Post-graduates of the RAS». More than six hundred applications in seven scientific fields were submitted for the competition. Alexei Tikhomirov the citizen of Tomsk has become the winner of the competition in the field «Earth Sciences» and the possessor of one of two hundred grants.
	«GLOBAL ENERGY» PRIZE FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS From March, 12 to March, 14, 2005 the International Symposium «Science and Society» was held at the St.-Petersburg Scientific Center. Within the framework of this event the Second St.-Petersburg meeting of Nobel prize-winners and the «Global energy» International Prize has been held. Another important event was held March, 14, the ceremony of the awards delivery to the winners of the research grants competition within the framework of the Youth program «Global energy», founded a year ago.
	IRKUTSK SCIENTISTS, THE WINNERS OF THE YOUTH PROGRAM «GLOBAL ENERGY»
	THE PROGRAM OF THE RAS IS HEADED BY AN ACADEMICIAN FROM IRKUTSK The presidium of the Russian academy of sciences has ratified the program of basic researches «Solar activity and physical processes in system the Sun – ground» which performance will head Irkutsk astrophysics. Participants of the program - about twenty academic establishments of Russia, and the director of Institute of солнечно-terrestrial physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science the academician Helium of Stallions will supervise over all works. Perhaps, for the first time lately such large program was headed by the Irkutsk scientist.

Concerning this problem there was the matter at one of the recent sessions of the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the RAS.
