	THE INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS AND INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING: MILESTONES IN THE HISTORY On June, 7, 1957 the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences has accepted the offer of the Chairman of organizing committee for the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Science Academician M.A.Lavrentiev on the creation and construction of some institutes in the structure of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center among those there was the Institute of Economics and Statistics, the first Academic research establishment of economic line in the eastern areas of Russia.

	"THE NOBEL PRIZE OF THE EAST" Russian mathematicians, Academicians Vladimir Igorevich Arnold from the Moscow branch and Ludwig Dmitrievich Faddeev from the St-Petersburg branch of the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the RAS have been awarded with the Shaw Prize- 2008 called as "the Nobel Prize of the East".

	DREAM OF THE DOCTOR OF TCHERNYSHEV The urological department in the Central Clinical Hospital celebrating semicentennial anniversary has appeared twenty four years ago. 	ANNIVERSARY START According to old tradition on the second Sunday of June in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok, a track and field athletics run is annually held in memory of V.Rytsarev, former employee of the Christianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the SB RAS, glider pilot and not ordinary man in many respects died in his heyday being 37 years old.
