	INVITING FOR THE LEICA MICROSYSTEMS SEMINAR The Leica Microsystems Agency in Russian Federation from October, 6 to October,10, 2008 holds in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok a seminar « The newest developments of Leica Microsystems for biomedical research», dated to the opening of the Agency branch in Novosibirsk.
	THE LEADERS OF THE SB RAS VISITED KUZBASS August, 12 according to the invitation of the Governor of the Kemerovo Region A.G.Tuleev, Kemerovo was visited by the delegation of the Siberian Branch of the RAS led by the chairman of the Branch Academician A.L.Aseev.
	FORUM AT BAIKAL Irkutsk is preparing for the 5th Baikal Economic Forum to be opened September, 8.
	THE FORUM ON NANOTECHNOLOGIES The First International forum on nanotechnologies will take place from December, 3 to December, 5, 2008 in Moscow, at the "Expocenter" Central Exhibition Complex.
	COMPLEX APPROACH TO «MINING» PROBLEMS July, 7 to 11 the conference «Fundamental problems of the formation of man- caused geoenvironment», organized by the Institute of Mining of the SB RAS has taken place at the House of Scientists of the SB RAS.
	THE DEPTHS OF KUZBASS: COAL, METANE, … OIL?! The nature has awarded Russia with the Kuzbass with infinite riches of its bowels. Now the riches are not only natural, but also those were gathered by miners, metallurgists, chemists, power engineers, scientists: a lot of generations of Russian people created this unique region.
	«THE HISTORY OF NATURAL WATERS», HAVING NO CONTINUATION Water is the same strategic product as oil, gas, coal, ore and wood, but there were no place for this valuablemost component it was found neither among fundamental problems, nor among applied ones in Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

	FORESTALLING THE TIME The recently issued book «Academician Pavel Ivanovich Melnikov» from the series «Science of Siberia in personalia» is devoted to the 100th anniversary from the birth date of the outstanding scientist, the founder of Siberian geocryological scientific school and the Institute Geocryology the SB RAS.
	«TO HEAT THE GROUND WITH ONE’S OWN HEAT…» Last year the Siberian and Far East writer, journalist, dissident Boris Ivanovich Chernykh was 70. In this connection the "Europe" publishing house of Moscow has published “The Anthology” of his works in two volumes.

	SPARE THE MARMOT! The Department of Natural resources of the Novosibirsk Region has recently made a decision to exclude a forest-steppe marmot from the list of especially protected species, the species included in the International Red Book and till now being under the protection of law.
