	THE DREAM EMBODIED In the autumn of 2009 the Academgorodok is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Academic science in Tomsk and the 30th anniversary of the Tomsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS.
	THE SB RAS PRESIDIUM MEETING
	RUSSIA AND SERBIA: THE COMMONWEALTH OF CALCULATORS The visit of the President of Russia to the Belgrade held in autumn for the first time after a long-term break, became one of the significant events in the political life of our countries. One may consider as a symbolical fact that that on its threshold a large-scale International forum was held by Russian and Serbian mathematicians.
	THE PHYSICS OF NANOSIZED SEMICONDUCTORS From September, 28 to October, 3, 2009 in the Novosibirsk and Tomsk Academgorodoks the ninth Russian conference on semiconductor physics "Semiconductors - 2009" took place.
	THE SB RAS AT THE NANOFORUM The Siberian Branch of the RAS took an active part in the working of the 2nd International Forum on nanotechnologies "RUSNANOTECH 2009" (October, 6 to 8, 2009, Expocenter, Moscow)as well as an exhibition that took place within the framework of the Forum.
	"CHEMISTRY - 2009" At the "Expocenter", one of the largest Russian exhibition centers (Moscow) the next, fifteenth International exhibition "Chemistry - 2009" devoted to chemical industry and science has taken place. The Institutes of the Siberian Branch took an active part in the exhibition.
	RUSSIAN-GERMAN SCIENTIFIC SCHOOLS FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS ON NANOMATERIALS AND SYNCHROTRON RADIATION Last time nanotechnologies are a priority research field in many countries such as the USA, Japan, Germany. In Russia this field of scientific researches both basic and applied is also actively developed too. This year several Russian-and- German schools devoted to the problems of nanotechologies and the methods for nanomaterials investigation by means of synchrotron radiation were organized.
	EXTENDING THE BORDERS OF COOPERATION October, 19 to 22 the delegation of the Siberian Branch presented by Academicians A.L.Aseev, F.A.Kuznetsov, N.A.Kolchanov and Professor M.P.Moshkin has visited Japan. A basic event of the program was the participation in the working meeting organized by the ISTC together with the Tohoku University.
	THE FIRST RESULTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT The cooperation of the Institute of Geochemistry of the SB RAS with the Institute of Earth Sciences is developed within the framework of the SB RAS – NSC International project.
	THE PROBLEMS OF THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY AND WAYS TO SOLVE THEM A scientific report concerning this topic has been heard and discussed recently at the meeting of the Presidium of the IrSC of the SB RAS.
	THE SB RAS AT THE SIBERIAN FAIR Annually in October at the Siberian Fair passes a marked sign event of a regional scale is held such as "SibPolyTech" All-Siberian forum. Its mission is to support Russian manufacturers, to assist in the solving the problems of the development of fuel and energy complex, electrotechnical industry, mechanical engineering, ecology, as well as to promote manufacturing application of the developments of Siberian scientists.

	INTELLECTUAL GAME IN BOTANY At the Central Siberian Botanical Garden of the SB RAS the 7th Intellectual game in botany among schoolchildren of 6-7 forms was held for the prize of the CSBG of the SB RAS.
	THE INK NOT FOR EYELASHES The first personal exhibition of graphic works by Julia Balash titled so has been held at the House of Scientists.
	ALEXANDER SHURITS: 35 YEARS LATER Almost thirty five years ago the first exhibition of the works by Alexander Shurits took place at the Showroom of the House of Scientists. His friendship with the world of science began that time. Today we are representing the fifth artist’s exhibition titled "Once in Paris".
	ACADEMIAD-2009 IN VOLLEYBALL October, 25 to 26 traditional NSC competitions were held at the Academgorodok, the 14th volleyball tournament "Academiad-2009".
	THE POETRY AND PROSE OF OLD YARD The State Unitary Enterprise "Housing and Communal Services of the NSC of the SB RAS" has won in a multistage competition, held by the mayoralty of Novosibirsk and it is recognized as the best managing organization of the City.
