	PROGRAM OF THE RAS GENERAL MEETING The General Meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be held in Moscow on December 21-22.

	PREMIUM NAMED AFTER THE WELL-KNOWN FELLOW COUNTRYMAN Leonid Lazarevich Ubugunov, Director of the Institute of General and Experimental Biology of SB RAS has been awarded with the premium named after D.N. Pryanishnikov 2011 for a series of works titled “Soil fertility, plant nutrition and fertilizer use under cryoaride conditions”.
	TWO INSTITUTES OF SB RAS GOT A NEW BUILDING A solemn opening of the building that will house two institutes of the SB RAS: Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry and Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology has been held on December 9.
	THE ARCTIC: MEETING CHALLENGES A joint scientific session of the TSC SB RAS and TSC SB RAMS, dedicated to fundamental problems of the Arctic medicine, has taken place in Tomsk Akademgorodok on the last day of November.

	TRACE OF LYAPUNOV On October 11-14, the International Conference “Modern Problems of Mathematics, Informatics and Bioinformatics”, devoted to the 100th birth anniversary of outstanding scientist and teacher, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences Alexey Andreevich Lyapunov, has been held in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok.
	PAST AND PRESENT The Russian translation of Graham L. and Kantor J.-M. book “The names of infinity” has been published in April this year. The book has attracted attention of the international scientific community, since it deals with the formation of the largest in the world of science of the twentieth century Moscow School of Mathematics and genesis of its scientific ideas.
