	VOCATION FOR ARCHAEOLOGY A prominent Russian scientist, a great expert in the field of archeology and prehistory of Eurasia and America, Director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of SB RAS, Academician A.P. Derevyanko has marked his 70th birth anniversary on January 9.
	LIFE FULL OF EVENTS Alexander Alekseevich Pakhomov, Doctor of Sciences (Economy), Vice-President of the Presidium of Yakutsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of RAS, will mark his 55th birth anniversary on January 14.
	ACTING TOGETHER The Irkutsk Scientific Center of SB RAS and SB RAMS have jointly created a Department of biomedical researches and technologies.
	“WE’VE WALKED A LONG WAY TO THIS DISCOVERY...” At the end of 2012, young scientists from the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology of SB RAS have simultaneously received the three prestigious awards – L’Oreal Award, Award named after Academician D.K. Belyaev and Award of European Academy of Sciences.

	THE HYMN OF TDI SIE Technological Design Institute of Scientific Instrument Engineering of the SB RAS has marked its double jubilee last year.
	OH, JUBILEES, JUBILEES... A book of poems with such a title has been prepared by Doctor of Science (Chemistry) V.E. Fedorov for his 75th birth anniversary. A rich material amounting to 226 pages is dedicated to the wonderful people with whom he had a chance to study and work at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of SB RAS.
	MUSKETEERS DO EXIST! January 2 marks 45 years since the creation of a famous fencing club “Victoria”.
