	FORESTER - MISSION AND LIFETIME PROJECT I.V. Taran – Veteran of Work of the Novosibirsk region and the Siberian Branch of RAS has marked his 90th birth anniversary on October 16. His general work experience in Siberia is 57 years, in the Central Siberian Botanical Garden of SB RAS - 42.
	ABOUT THE DRAFT “PROVISIONS ON THE FEDERAL AGENCY OF SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATIONS” The scientists have found in the published draft a confirmation of their worst fears: the final extirpation of the principles of basic research self-organization, the transfer of management of academic institutions to uncontrolled management of officials with the withdrawal and subsequent privatization of the property which is now in the use of the institutions.

	YOUTH SCHOOL ON SYNCHROTRON RADIATION The V School for Young Professionals “Synchrotron radiation in modern technologies” has started at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of SB RAS on October 14.
	AGREEMENT ON COOPERATION The Tomsk Polytechnic University and the Institute of Chemical Technology (Prague, Czech Republic) have signed a general agreement on educational and scientific cooperation.
