	AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE SB RAS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED In order to put the Charter of the SB RAS into correspondence with new standard acts of Russian Federation and with the amended Charter of Russian Academy of Sciences, in an effort to define more distinctly the legal status of the Siberian Branch of RAS, as well as in connection with an improvement of the structure of the Siberian Branch, some alterations and additions have been inserted in the Charter of the Siberian Branch of RAS, which one is operating since December 23, 1992.
	RESOLUTION SHOULD BE "COOL" Perhaps, the chiefs of the Regional Scientific and Technical Program "Siberia" will really sign the "cool" Resolution, since it will be necessary to defend the concern of science again and thus to draw attention of the as yet unformed new Government of Russian Federation to the Siberian problems.

	Academician Yuri Leonidovich Ershov is 60.
	LEADER OF THE SIBERIAN SCHOOL OF ALGEBRA AND LOGIC Academician Yuri Leonidovich Ershov is outstanding scientist in the fields of algebra and mathematical logic, informatics and applied logic, as well as philosophy of mathematics, who has made fundamental contribution to development of the most significant branches of modern mathematics. On May 1, 2000 he is 60, and he meets his anniversary with fantastic capacity of work and being full of new ideas. Yu.Ershov has published more than 140 scientific works, among them there are 8 monographs, which have been translated abroad and gained the highest appreciation by the experts.

	THE MEMORIAL TABLE IS OPEN April 20 at the main building of the Institute of Physics of Semiconductors, grand opening of the memorial table dedicated to the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Konstantin Konstantinovich Svitashev has taken place.
	DAY OF VICTORY, DAY OF MEMORY 55 years have passed from the date of the Great Victory of Russia in the Great Patriotic War in 1941 – 1945. For a variety of reasons, the subject "Russian Orthodox Church in the Great Patriotic War" has been not sufficiently elucidated in press, and the archive data on the relations between the Church and the State within this period were not available for study. Now an opportunity occurs to uncover also this page of the heroic history of our Motherland.
