Research of geographical cultures of a larch are carried out in the Chita area since 1975. In the populations of a different geographical origin growing in similar conditions of culture, various hereditary properties of plants, including on quality of a stem were showed.

For an estimation of quality of stem all trees on the registration areas have divided into straight lines single-stems, direct double-barrelled, poorly curved о single-stems, poorly curved double-barrelled, is strong and repeatedly curved. Occurrence of such trees have defined in percentage.

The greatest quantity of trees with a direct trunk, more than 50 %, is marked in populations of larch Gmelin from the Chita timber enterprise (64 %) and l. Sukachyov from It new - Lajlinsk timber enterprise of Sverdlovsk area (56 %). The low quantity of straight-stemmed trunks is in a population л. The Siberian Khakassia from October timber enterprise (4 %). In others climatypes this parameter changes from 28 up to 44 % (table).

The representation of plants with double-barrelled trunks (straight lines and be rather weak) in populations is in limits from 0 up to 6 %.

The greatest occurrence in geographical cultures of plants with be rather weak trunks, from 34 up to 78 %.

The maximum of strongly curved trunks, more than 10 %, is found out in populations л. The Siberian Khakassia from October timber enterprise (18 %), l. Gmelin from Svobodnyj timber enterprise of the Amur area (12 %), л. Siberian from Kaczug timber enterprise of Irkutsk area (12 %) and Czemal timber enterprise of republic Altai (11 %).

Thus, climatypes larches of a different geographical origin in similar conditions of growth and development have shown significant distinctions to such important selection and economic attribute as quality of a trunk.
