Presentation

The duration of the lectures – 1 hour and 40 minutes, oral presentations – 15 minutes including questions. For the demonstration you can use

Posters should be not more than 130 cm wide and 110 cm high. They should be readable from
2 m distance.


Publication

The Abstracts of lectures, oral and poster presentations will be published on CD before the Conference and distributed to the participants at the registration. Besides, the Organizing Committee has announced a competition for publication of a number of contributions of young scientists in Russian Journals (translated into English) “Catalysis in Industry” and “Kinetics and Catalysis”.

Language

Working languages of the School-conference are Russian and English.

Applications and Abstracts may be submitted:

Oral and poster presentations are welcome. The abstract should not exceed 2 pages including tables, artworks and references, typed on A4 or 8.5" ´ 11" format paper with 2.5 cm (1") margins, 1.5 spaced, Times New Roman font no less than 12 pt fonts. The abstract should include Titlefollowed by Author(s) (please underline the presenting person) and Affiliation(s), including E-mail address. Please, attach file if you use electronic mail.

Conference Site

The Republic of Altai is a whole world that is unexplored and free of smog, haste, and business rhythm of the big city. Full of mystery and inscrutability, the mountain country Altai since olden times is surrounded with legends, myths, heroic legends, and folk songs. Altai is majestic, mighty, and just.
The conference will be held at the tourist center STIK situated at the heart of the Altai Mountains, in the banks of the quick mountain river Katun.
Unique place – Aya lake – is less that 2 km from STIK, it is the only warm lake in Altai and usually attracts the swimmers.

Transportation
Participants will be transferred to the tourist center STIK by the busses to be started from the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis
(Novosibirsk, pr. Akademika Boreskova, 5) on July 24 according the following schedule:
Bus N 1 – 9.00
Bus N 2 – 11.00
Bus N 3 – time of the departure will be definite after receiving the information from the participants about time of their arrival to Novosibirsk (possibly late evening).

Participants will be met at the Novosibirsk airport and taken to the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis by special transport. The Organizing Committee asks the participants to inform us in advance about arrival date, time and flight number to arrange the meeting at the airport of Novosibirsk. The representatives of the Organizing Committee will hold the boards with the Conference logo.

If you miss the transport of the Organizing Committee, you can reach Boreskov Institute of Catalysis by bus 808 running from the airport every hour (6.20…..21.20), It’ll take you one hour to get the Institute. Bus stop “Computer Center”, Boreskov Institute is situated on the opposite side of the prospect.

If you come to Novosibirsk earlier than July 24 and need accommodation please inform the Organizing Committee about that.

It takes 8-9 hours to reach tourist center STIK from Novosibirsk. Stops at the refreshment places will be arranged where one can buy some snack. Dinner will be offered in STIK upon arrival.

Return way:
The buses from tourist center STIK to Novosibirsk will start on July 30, Saturday, 9.00 in the morning. The organizers recommend booking the return tickets for the night July 30-31, or very early morning, July 31.

The price of the return bus ticket is 1180 rubles or 34 Euro (Novosibirsk-STIK-Novosibirsk).


Accommodation

The rooms of the different convenience are booked at the tourist center STIK. Please pay your attention on a slight increase of the prices comparing with September 2004. The organizers booked the additional categories of the rooms taking into account a big amount of the applicants and their wishes.

The participants will be accommodated in
HOTEL, double rooms, 3-floor building (with shower and toilet inside the room – LUX, STANDARD, shower and toilet in the corridor – ECONOM)
HOTEL COMPLEX (HC), double rooms, 2-floor buildings (shower and toilet are outside)
Summer country house (L-2), double accommodation (shower and toilet are outside)
Summer country house (L-4), 4-beds accommodation (shower and toilet are outside).

The house with shower, warm water, toilets is situated closed to HC, L-2 and L-4.

One can order the single accommodation in double rooms.

Currency
The Russian currency is Ruble. One US dollar is currently 28,6 rubles, one Euro is 35 rubles.

Meals

Breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be arranged at EUROPA cafeteria situated just in STIK territory. The price is 240 rubles (7 Euro) per day.

So, you can transfer (or pay cash at the registration) the total payment for all facilities as REGISTRATION FEE. Calculation may be made both in rubles and Euro – slight inaccuracy over the currency rate is permitted.

Bank and Exchange

You will be able to exchange USD and Euro into Russian rubles at the banks. Credit cards (VISA, Master Card) are acceptable in local banks, where you can take cash in Russian rubles for local expenses. You can also use your credit card to get cash from ATM. Facilities for cashing traveler’s cheques are available at banks. Banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays except for banks at the airport.


Social Program

Altai is a wonderful place for sightseeing and for the rest. The participants will be invited for the fascinating excursion along Katun-river, dancing and sport program will be offered in the evening. You can also get the individual excisions: horse rides, rafting, trips to the cave.

Weather
The weather in Altai Mountains at the end of July is normally sunny with the temperatures in the range 25-30 Centigrade. But nevertheless please take warm and waterproof clothes to keep you warm in the fresh evenings or on rainy weather. We advise you to bring sport and swimming suits.

Electricity
The electric current in Russia is 220 V (50 Hz). Plugs and sockets are the same as in the Continental countries of the European Union.

Time Difference
Time in Novosibirsk (and Altai) is 6 hours ahead of GMT.
