Numerical solution of differential and integral equations
The optical regeneration is an attractive method to improve the performance for long-distance and high-speed fiber transmission. In this letter we investigate 40 Gbit/s dispersion-managed fiber transmission with optical 2R regeneration based on quantum well saturable absorber and highly nonlinear fiber. We study different dispersion map schemes and demonstrate through numerical modelling a feasibility of transmission over 10000 km by using symmetric dispersion management.
