The paper is devoted to discussion of results of computer-aided investigation of peculiarities of response of prestressed “interfacially structured” materials under vibration load. Here the term “interfacially structured” materials means materials with highly deformable interfaces between structural elements (blocks). The movable cellular automaton method was used as a tool for simulation. Influence of vibration parameters (frequency and amplitude), initial prestress value and volume fraction of interfacial regions on deformation ability of “interfacially structured” materials and their ability to dissipate energy of load was investigated.

Revealed features of material response on vibration load are true for various interfacially structured media whose structural elements have size belonging to various scale levels.
