Sediment Transport Model for Flat River Flows

Potapov I.I.

Far Eastern State Transport University (Khabarovsk)

To question of construction of mathematical sediment transport model for the flat rivers, it is devoted, a plenty of experimental and theoretical works.

However, all models investigated by us possess even one of two lacks:

1. In the majority of models parallelism of vectors hydrodynamical and sediment streams and consequently in these models there is no mechanism of cross-section erosion of a channel of the river is postulated.

2. Depth of a layer of a firm sediment depends only on local parameters of a stream, that does not allow to model distribution effects of the charge of sediment streams on width of a stream with passage of a river bed of the complex form.

In the given work is suggested, essentially new mathematical sediment transport model to erosion of the flat rivers free from the given lacks. In suggested model the mechanism responsible for deep and flat river erosion of a channel is determined. For definition of character of development river bed deformations the dimensionless complex determining character dominating of deformations river bed is entered. The suggested model, is checked up on known experiences for the given problem.

Numerical modelling erosive processes with use of algorithms considered in work [1] for modelling problems is lead. It is shown, that the models considered in works [2]-[4] are special cases of suggested model.
