Mathematical Simulation in Geophysical Problems. Seismic Methods, Problems of Geomonitoring and Geodynamics
An inverse kinematic problem of seismics for continuous-inhomogeneous media models using data for the times of first arrivals of refracted waves in 2D statement is considered. It is proposed to solve the problem in 2 stages. At the first stage, a reliable initial approximation of the medium model on the basis of the finite-difference “two-root method” or a local optimization method is constructed. The model is refined by using the ray seismic tomography method. With the help of a system of finitely supported basis functions with given differential and spectral properties, the sought-for solution is represented in parameterized form with parameters at nodes of a uniform rectangular grid. An algorithm to construct a matrix of the linearized operator of the solution to the direct problem is proposed. It provides automatic allowance for nodes of continuation outside the boundary of the domain being reconstructed and the absence of undesirable edge effects.
