A fractional model of seismic activity diffusion

A sequence of aftershocks triggered by the main shock of an earthquake is considered as a homogeneous markovian chain in the coordinate-time phase space. Empirical data showing the asymptotically power behaviour of jumps sizes distributions allow to pass from integral equation for aftershock density to fractional differential equation for its main asymptotic term. The equation is solved and numerical results are in agreement with calculations of other authors and obsevation data.
