The round-table "The role of mathematical education (in ordinary school and universities)"

Professional training in the field of information security has been carried out already for more than 10 years at the Computer Science and Computer Facilities Faculty of the Krasnoyarsk State Technical University.
Since 1995 training has been carried out according to the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Training of 1-st generation, speciality 220600 «the Organization and Technology of Information Protection » with specialization on the organization and protection of the computer systems information.
Since 2000, the Information Security Faculty has been preparing experts on speciality 075200 «Computer security» with qualification "mathematician". Training has been carried out for 5,5 years according to the State Education Standard Requirements (GOST) of 2-nd generation.
Realization of the basic educational program of qualified expert training is fulfilled by means of the pedagogical staff. The stuff has basic education, which corresponds to the disciplines being taught. Such courses as «Hardware-software means of information security maintenance», «Means and methods of information protection», «Cryptographic methods of information protection», «Organizational - juridical maintenance of information security», «Theoretical bases of computer security », «Bases of information security», and also special courses are carried out by employees of FSB, Government Communication and Information Federal Agency and KrasCrypt. Courses «Methods of programming», "Database management programs", section «Probability theory and mathematical statistics» from the course "Mathematics" are tutored by the employees of the Institute of Computational Modeling of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science. Sections of mathematics «Mathematical analysis», "Algebra", "Geometry", "TFCV", and also disciplines "Computer science", «Mathematical logic and the theory of algorithms », «Discrete mathematics», "Programming languages", «operations Research» are taught by former graduates of mechanics-mathematical faculty of the NSU.
Since 2002 a new innovative course of lectures and practical studies "the Basis of hi-tech manufactures organization» has been established for students of 4-th year. The special course program prepares managers of high technologies. The students are skilled in the basis of scientific and technical marketing, juridical and financial basis of small business and also business planning. With the financial support of the SRPTI KSU within the framework of this course students have organized a small enterprise, which provides information services.
The students pass industrial and pre-degree practice at the enterprises of the city in the sphere of information security maintenance. The degree works are lead by experts of the ICM SB RAS, the KSU, Government Communication and Information Federal Agency, FSB, KrasCrypt, and also by information protection experts of KRAZ information service, the Krasnoyarsk Railway and other enterprises.
Since 2001 Regional Education–Scientific Centre (RESC) has successfully started its work on the basis of Information Security Faculty at KSTU. Employees of the faculty take very active participation in all kinds of activities of the center. Retraining and professional skill improvement of the staff are carried out by the RESC, according to specialized programs coordinated by the State Technical Commission of the Russian Federation.
Definitely, one can observe successful development of the speciality, however, there are some problems of personnel continuity and laboratory base expansion.
