Serious ecological situation in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is the consequence of continuous dry up process of the Aral Sea, caused the activation process of desertification of ecosystems. Degradation of soil and vegetation cover is continuing. The quality of surface waters became worse. The current situation makes the problem of ecological division of territories according to the level of its ecological on a basis of GIS-technologies actual. Results of zoning will allow analyzing ecological situation much deeper, minimizing the damages from its consequences, developing scientifically approved recommendations for environmental protection and making optimal managing solutions.

In National Center of Geoinformation and Cadastre scientific researches are carried out in order to develop ecological GIS and to create digital evaluative maps of ecological division of the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Successful solution of such a difficult problem demands the involvement of the most modern information technologies, and firstly GIS-technologies. Using programming software INTERGRAPH allowed to hold researches on a basis of integrated GIS, combination of variety of materials exploited as information and received using various methods of different sources including: topographic maps; funding thematic maps; statistic materials; aerial cosmic photographic(traditional and digital) materials and others

Researching on a basis of programming software INTERGRAPH created the possibility to find solutions on modern level.
