	TROUBLES OF TOMSK ECOLOGISTS Ecologists of Tomsk have begun their activities on preparation for All-Russian Referendum on Environmental Protection to realize. The Referendum has been initiated at the All-Russian Extraordinary Conference, June 12, by Moscow ecologists and the GreenPeace representatives.
	YOUTH MUSIC FESTIVAL From July 29 to August 6, the traditional International Festival of Youth Music "Baikal-2000" will be held at the Baikal Lake littoral.
	WILL A NOVEL "OIL SONG" SOUND? In May, the Scientific and Practical Conference "Problems and Paths of Effective Mineral Raw Resources Developing of Siberia and Far East" has been held in Tomsk. The Conference, where the scientists and experts of Moscow and of all the Eastern Regions of Russia took part, was organized by the Gazprom and the Vostokgazprom Companies to be aimed at an "integration of efforts of Academic, High-School and Branch-wise science as well as of engineering thought for practical problems solution".
	NEAR SNOW-PEAK BOTTOMS This year the Complex folklore ethnographic expeditions of the Siberian and Far East Folklore Department of the Institute of Philology of the SB RAS under the leadership of Doctor Sc. (History) N.Alekseev have been recommenced.
