	Winners of the Demidov Prize of 1999
	The Lady of the Oil-field For the Institute of Oil Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 1999 is marked not only with the 275th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, not only with the jubilee of the institute itself (it had been organised 30 years ago with the purpose of development of complex investigations in the field of chemistry and technology of oils from West Siberian deposits), but as well with a jubilee of its director, Dr. of Science (Technology), Prof. Lyubov` Konstantinovna Altunina.
	The Scientist Who Has All the Degrees of the Order of Miners` Glory Scientific Secretary of the Kemerovo Scientific Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the head of the laboratory of geo-ecological and water problems Yevgeny Leonidovich Schastlivtsev is 50.

The authors of the book are veterans of the Institute of Mining and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences --- Academician M.Kurlenya, Director of the Institute, and Cand.Sci. 	Academic Choir of the Novosibirsk State University Invites The Choir of the NSU was founded in 1971. For thirteen years it had been conducted by Oxana Vyhristyuk. From the very beginning of its existence it was an academic one --- as to its repertory, genre distinctions from folklore choirs, the kind of sound production. The choir interprets songs of national and foreign origin; religious works by Russian composers of the three last centuries occupy a highly important place also.

	Siberian Rock-climbing Cup On November 25 to 28, 1999, the open championship of the Novosibirsk Scientific Centre in rock- climbing will take place at the artificial rock-stadium "Cascade" in the universal sports complex of the Academic Township (Akademicheskaya St., 9/1). It will be the third stage of the Siberian Cup.
