	ON THE AWARDING THE STATE PRIZES OF RUSSIA According to the Russian Federation Presidential Decree of August 5, 2002 the State Prizes of Russian Federation of 2001 in the field of science and engineering have been awarded and the titles of the Prizewinners conferred to a numerous group of scientists and engineering workers. There are Siberians among them.
	PROPERTY OF THE REPUBLIC The titles of the State Prizewinners of Russia are given to a group of the philologists of several Institutes of the SB RAS.
	APPRECIATION OF SIBERIAN PHYSICISTS The State Prize of Russia for the series of works "Method of electronic cooling of the beams of heavy charged particles" has been awarded to a group of scientists of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the SB RAS.
	THE ACADEMICIAN V.A.KOPTIUG PRIZE FOR TOMSK SCIENTISTS We have asked one of the prizewinners, the head of the Laboratory of Surface Strengthening Physics of the Institute of Strength Physics and Material Science of the SB RAS to tell about the basic results of creative cooperation of the Siberian and Byelorussian scientists in the field of surface engineering of modern materials and constructions.
	REGIONAL COMPETITION The Russian Humanitarian Scientific Foundation (RHSF) conjointly with the Novosibirsk Regional Administration announces the Regional Competition 2003.
	"YU.N.RERICH, THE SCIENTIST AND THE PERSON" Under such title the Anniversary Scientific and Public Conference dedicated to memory of this outstanding orientalist of 20th century, outstanding linguist, historian, archeologist, ethnographer, traveler will be held from August 17 to August 18 in the Large Hall of the House of Scientists of the SB RAS.
	"MANY-SIDED" SILICON The silicon of semiconductor quality during the last 50 years keeps leading positions of the material used for creation of functional electronic devices with high integration level. The integration and the cost of final products are the basis for the successes of modern silicon technology.
	ENERGY SOURCE OF THE 21ST CENTURY The 4th International Conference on Gas Hydrates, which are called the main energy source of the 21st century, has been held recently in Japan, at Yokohama City.
	THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ICMAR`2002 The 11th International Conference on the methods of aerophysical researches organized on the alternate years by the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the SB RAS has been held from July 1 to July 7. This conference is much more known to the experts as the "ICMAR" according to the abbreviation of its English name.
	WHY THE RUSSIANS ARE NOT INSPIRED BY "THE LINE OF REFORMS" V.Nakoriakov, Academician of the RAS.
	BE KNOWN ALL OVER THE WORLD! Siberian partnership of mathematicians with the German abstract journal.
	THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THE ONCOIMMUNOLOGY The young collective of the Department of Cancer Immunology of the Kemerovo Scientific Center has celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Department.
	GREEN LUNGS OF KEMEROVO There is an event at the Kemerovo Scientific Center of the SB RAS: the official founding of the Kuzbass Botanical Garden has been held.
