	THE DAY OF SCIENCE AT THE PRESIDENTIAL COUNCIL Session of the Council on Science and High Technologies under the chairmanship of the President of the Russian Federation V.Putin has been held February, 9 in Moscow, at the scientific library of the Academic Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry. Questions were discussed on the scientific staff training and attachment in our country. There were Academicians N.Dobretsov, G.Kulipanov, A.Skrinski of Novosibirsk among the members of the Presidential Council. Having returned from Moscow, they shared their impressions at a specially convened press conference.
	RUSSIA CANNOT DO WITHOUT SCIENCE Siberian scientific community has celebrated the Day of Russian Science on a large scale. Solemn events have been held at all the scientific centers of the SB RAS, in each Academic institute.

	IRKUTSK SCIENTIFIC CENTER: WORKING FOR THE WELFARE OF THE REGION AND ALL THE COUNTRY In February the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the SB RAS celebrates a significant date. 55 years ago, in February, 1949, the East-Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences had been founded in Irkutsk according to the decisions of the USSR Council of Ministers and then of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

	"WOMB" OF THE INP On February, 7 the correspondent of the "SiS" has found himself among the excursionists at the open day in the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the SB RAS, in the thick of young and, undoubtedly, talented children from the PMS of the NSU. The excursions were held within the framework of the events devoted to the Day of Russian science.
