	ATTENTION: A COMPETITION The National Academy of Sciences of Byelorussia and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences is announcing a competition of 2008 for the Academician V.A.Koptiug Prize.
	THE EXHIBITION CENTER OF THE SB RAS IS 10 The present year is twice anniversary for exhibition activity of the Siberian Branch. 30 years passed since the first employee has been admitted to the just founded group of exhibitions. And already the Exhibition center is ten years old!
	THE DAY OF THE SCIENCE AT THE ITAM OF THE SB RAS Within the framework of the Day of Science, February, 8 the Christianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics was visited by the mayor of Novosibirsk, the Head of Novosibirsk Soviet District Administration, retinue, as well as by mass media and TV representatives.
	«HOW DOES PHYSICS HELP TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD?» February, 6 within the framework of the program «The scientists of the SB RAS for schoolchildren of the Soviet District», a round table discussion on the topic «How does physics helps to understand the world?» for the pupils of senior school has been held at the Conference hall of the SB RAS Exhibition Center.
	THE WEEK OF SCIENCE AT THE INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL BIOLOGY AND FUNDAMENTAL MEDICINE OF THE SB RAS Celebrating in the beginning of February the Day of Russian Science, the Institutes of the Siberian Branch during last years are holding the events those on the one hand, have become already traditional, and on the other hand, every time are introducing something new in a broad interdisciplinary palette, allowing the rising generation (since the offered program is designed mainly for schoolchildren and students), young researchers and the public to learn more about different branches of scientific activities.
	AT THE RZHANOV INSTITUTE OF SEMICONDUCTOR PHYSICS
	ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT OF SIBERIA: FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS As well as for the last years, these days an educational activity of museum divisions of the Institute of History of the SB RAS was carried out with a special intensity.
	ARCHEOLOGY AND ETHNOGRAPHY: FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN AND … POLICEMEN On the Day of Science it was as usual populous at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography.
	WITHIN THE SPHERE OF ECONOMIC ATTRACTION Open day on the occasion of the Day of Science at the Institute of Economics and the Industrial Engineering of the SB RAS.
	AT THE SPSTL OF THE SB RAS All the range of the events held at the SPSTL of the SB RAS from February, 8 to February, 13 was reflected in the poster issued by the Days of Science. This has allowed the readers and visitors to familiarize beforehand with the program, to plan visits, to make orders for excursions.
	PROFESSORIAL ASSEMBLY IN TOMSK On Saturday, February, 9, a solemn assembly of scientific community devoted to the Day of Russian Science has been held in Tomsk.
	CRITICAL TECHNOLOGIES OF THE ALTAI STATE UNIVERSITY To hold the Days of Russian Science became a good tradition at the Altai State University last years. They include the assembly of scientific community, Rector’s reception of the best young researchers, the organization of exhibitions, presentations and methodical seminars.
	THE CAPITAL OF KUZBASS CELEBRATING THE SCIENTISTS In February the events devoted to the Day of Russian Science have begun in Kemerovo. In institutes Exhibitions were developed, lectures for post-graduates were read, open lessons at schools were carried out.

	TECHNOPARK: THE PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS On the thirteenth of February a press conference has taken place at the Exhibition Center of the SB RAS devoted to the analysis of the results of sociological poll of the Academgorodok inhabitants carried out at the end of the last year about their attitude to the existing projects of the Academgorodok’s development and in particular, to the technopark founding.
	EMBRIONAL STEM CELLS FROM FIBROBLASTS Today one of the most popular topics of medicine is concerning stem cells. The hopes for long life without diseases are connected with them. Any scientific event on this topic is always interesting and often gives a new material for reflections.
	HOW TO SAVE THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE EARTH? In Pushchino near Moscow the third All-Russian scientific conference «The principles and ways of the preservation of biodiversity» has taken place.
	THE STUDYING AND COGNIZING THE NATURE IS A PERMANENT PROCESS The Institute of Animal Systematics and Ecology of the Siberian Branch of the RAS is the only Academic research establishment of zoological profile in the Asian part of Russia.
	THE KOLTSOVO TECHNOLOGY The scientists of the SSC "Vector" offer the technology for producing the artificial proteins with prescribed properties allowing to create promising medicines.
	SCIENCE IN THE MIRROR OF PRESS
	PHOTOANNALS OF THE IRKUTSK SCIENCE Author and guide is Vladimir KOROTKORUCHKO, the correspondent of a journal «Science in Siberia» weekly and the «Science first-hand» magazine, who more than thirty years is working beside the Irkutsk scientists.
	THE HISTORY OF THE PORTRAITS OF TWO GENERALS Right at the end of 2007 the «White city» Publishing house has released an album of the series «The treasures of Russian art» devoted to the reserve museum «The Borodino field» located by Mozhaisk on the place of the great battle of Russian army with the French aggressors. The album is rich with illustrations, and there are picturesque portraits of two generals the participants of the Borodino battle P.P.Konovnitsyn and A.A.Tuchkov among colorful pictures who are included into the list of the most well-known heroes of Russia.
