	A NEW TRADITION IS LAID May, 15 a solemn meeting devoted to the first City Day of Science has taken place in Novosibirsk.
	THE SB RAS PRESIDIUM MEETING The session of the Presidium of the Branch of May, 14 was held in an unusual mode. It was an experiment in using the telecommunication with the Presidiums of regional scientific centers.
	ELECTIONS TO THE ACADEMY The elections of the leaders of the Academy of Sciences are in the heat. Certainly, the elections of its President are the most crucial for the Academy.

	DELEGATION OF THE WESTERN AUSTRALIA IN TOMSK Tomsk was visited by the delegation of the State of Western Australia . Together with the prime minister of the State Alan Carpenter, high officials in the sphere of science, industry, agriculture and natural resources have come thus shown an increased interest to these fields of cooperation.
	MAY, 25 IS THE DAY OF CHEMIST The Day of Chemist traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of May, has been established by the Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Council of October, 1, 1980 as a professional holiday of the workers of chemical branch.
	GETTING AT THE ROOT! The Laboratory of Ecological Research and Cromatographic Analysis is one of the youngest at the Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry of the SB RAS. The laboratory status was obtained in 1997.
	THE NEW INVESTMENT CONTRACT IS SIGNED May, 16 the participants of the Agreement on the creation and management procedure of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok Technopark have officially declared the signing of the investment contract regulating the way of financing, the volumes and terms of construction of the objects of the largest scientific and innovation center.
	THE APARTMENTS FOR SCIENTISTS May, 15 an event that for a long time awaited has taken place in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok: the Chairman of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences N.L.Dobretsov has handed over the scientists of the SB RAS the keys for forty new apartments.
