	SCIENCE OF THE SOC COUNTRIES: THE CORE OF INNOVATION COOPERATION July, 4 to 5 at the Novosibirsk Academgorodok the Forum of the State scientific institutions of the countries of the Shanghai Organization for Cooperation took place. Outstanding scientific figures of China, Kazakhstan of Kirghyzstan, Tadjikistan took part in it. Russia was represented by the Siberian Branch of the RAS, the organizer of the Forum.
	TOWARD A NEW QUALITY OF SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION On the fifth of July a working session of the 2nd the Forum of the State scientific institutions of the countries of the Shanghai Organization for Cooperation took place.
	THE APPEAL of the highest-level Forum of the State scientific institutions of the countries of the Shanghai Organization for Cooperation (SOC) to the Governments of the SOC countries.
	FOR THE CONSTRUCTIVE DIALOGUE One of the principal events in the program of 2nd Forum of the scientific institutions of the countries of the Shanghai Organization for Cooperation was an official opening of the Confucius Class at the Novosibirsk State University.
	SCIENTIFIC YOUTH OF THE RADIOCARBON METHOD At the end of May - the beginning of June, 2009 the 20th International Radiocarbon Conference held every three years has taken place near the city of Kona (the Hawaii Island and State, the USA). It is the largest scientific forum where the freshest data are represented in the field the radiocarbon method application.
	SILICON - 2009 July, 7 the 6th International conference in the field of urgent problems of physics, material science, technology and diagnostics of silicon, nanometer- sized structures and devices has been opened at the Novosibirsk Scientific Center, in the Large Hall of the House of Scientists of the SB RAS.
	WHEN A DISASTER COMES FROM THE OCEAN Next week the 24th International symposium on the problem of tsunami to be opened at the Academgorodok. Novosibirsk for the second time becomes the place of such an action to be held, organized biannually by the Commission for Tsunami of the International Geodesic and Geophysical Union (IGGU)). 	ABOUT THE TIME, DIFFICULT AND CREATIVE One more talented book by Academician M.V.Kurlenia has been issued: "The sides of my destiny". The book is written in good Russian, complicated phenomena and processes are explained simply and clearly to be understood even by non- specialists.
	ETHNIC ECOLOGY IN SIBERIA For the first time in Russia a monograph is published devoted to the studies on traditional household and nature-environmental culture of the peoples of Siberia and its place in ethnology and ethnic ecology.
