	LEADER'S NATURE September, 3 Arnold Kirillovich Tulohonov, the Director of the Baikal Institute of Nature Management of the SB RAS, Corresponding Member of the RAS, the Honored Scientific Worker of the Russian Federation has been 60 years old.
	THE NSU IS 50! In September, 2009 the Novosibirsk State University is 50. Solemn events will be held from September, 21 to September, 26.
	THE SCIENCE-TOWN OF KOLTSOVO IS 30! August, 30, 1979 the Novosibirsk executive committee has taken the decision on the formation of the working settlement of Koltsovo in structure of the Novosibirsk rural district and on the founding the Koltsovo Settlement Council of People's Deputies.
	THE FOUNDER OF COSMOPHYSICAL RESEARCH On the occasion of the 100th anniversary from the birthday of Yu.G.Shafer, the Director of the Institute of Cosmophysical Research and Aeronomy of the Yakut Branch of the SB of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
	MALTSEV READINGS - 2009 From August, 24 to August, 28, 2009 an annual conference "Maltsev readings " was held at the Novosibirsk Academgorodok.
	A PRINCIPAL ELEMENT IN THE HEREDITY MECHANISM On the outcome of summer, August, 31, an International conference "Chromosome – 2009" has been opened at the House of Scientists of the SB RAS, which was organized by the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine of the SB RAS.
	HEADING TOWARD THE TRUTH From August, 25 to August, 28 the 5th Russian Philosophical Congress "Science. Philosophy. Society " took place at the Novosibirsk State University.
	FROM BAIKAL TO THE PACIFIC OCEAN The complex historical and geographical as well as economic and geographical expedition "Baikal – The Pacific Ocean" along the route Irkutsk - Vladivostok – Irkutsk has been conceived and realized by scientists of the Sochava Institute of Geography of the SB RAS.
	CIVILIZATION CONSTANTS OF THE INLAND EURASIA From the second half of July to the beginning of August the Russian and Mongolian ethnographic and sociological expedition worked within the territory of Mongolia.
	THE FIELD PROJECT: A STEP TO HIGH SKILL The work of the Archeology department of the Humanities Faculty of the NSU is not restricted only within the framework of curriculums and practical training. In 2006 the NSU have initiated a long-term project "Siberian archeological field school".
	COMPETITION FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS ANNOUNCED Post-graduates students and post-docs of regional higher education institutions and scientific organizations can become the owners of nominal Novosibirsk Regional Administration grants. The deadline for the submission of applications is October, 20.
	THE STATUS IS OBLIGING The Novosibirsk State University has submitted an application for the competition for the status of National Research University.
	FOR MONITORING THE UNDERGROUND SPACE August,17 at the Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum and Gas Geology and Geophysics of the SB RAS a meeting has taken place of mass media representatives with the leading and young scientists of the Institute who have told about new promising developments and achievements in the field of geophysics.
	INNOVATIONS SPACEWARD! The integration of science, higher education and industry in Krasnoyarsk is growing.
	ON THE PODIUM August, 26 to 29 the Tomsk State University took part in the 9th Moscow International Shop of innovations and investments.
	VACANCIES
	THE SCHOOL FOR THE NONORDINARILY THINKING September, 1 the lessons began at schools, secondary and higher education institutions all over the Russia, but at the PhysMathSchool attached to the NSU they have begun a month ago, while the Summer School. Already the 48th time running in the beginning of August senior pupils come here from all the Siberia, the winners of regional Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and for the last years in biology, too.
	THE ACCIDENT AT SAYANO_SHUSHENSKAYA HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION. WHAT IS WRITTEN NOW Massive publications about the accident are proceeding; there are many different interpretations among the stories about the happened and the forecasts for the future. Nevertheless, we are trying to illuminate the basic topics of the publications.
	IMPRESSIONS OF THE "IMPRESSION" September, 2 a personal exhibition of photography works by Sergei Alekseenko titled as "Impression" has been opened at the Showroom of the House of Scientists.
