	THOUGHTS ABOUT TEACHING MATHEMATICS It’s not much of a secret, that during recent years some decrease in the level of all mathematical education for a significant part of students and even post-graduate students has become obvious.

Certainly not everyone, but only the most talented and capable. However, during last years our experts have been pressed by competitors from China and India, frequently having the similar professional qualities, but far lower needs for wages.
	SOCIOLOGY IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION: MIRROR, TOOL OF MANAGEMENT OR INSTRUMENT OF PUNISHMENT? It would be desirable for scientific and pedagogical community, to have a discussion over the issue, whether sociological support of educational process in a higher educational institute is the means of its improvement and necessary feedback of faculties and administration. Or it is the means of psychological pressure on undesirable, inconvenient, disagreeable members of pedagogical staff.
	IS THERE A THREAT OF RUNNING WILD TO RUSSIA? The 2010th year - the year of hopes and disappointments, achievements and defeats, victory for common sense and blossoming of obscurantism, confidence in the future and apathy, comes to an end. The year was diversified and conflicting, but in general the conclusions are unfavourable.
	EMERGENCY LANDING OF PELICANS Same as six years ago, the news about catching several pelicans in Siberia in places where they should not be met, has appeared on pages of newspapers and telenews releases, in the middle of this November.
