	AT THE PRESIDIUM OF THE SB RAS
	AGREEMENT ON STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP The Agreement on strategic partnership between the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Novosibirsk State University, the Educational Institutions of the Sovietsky district of Novosibirsk, the Open Joint-Stock Company “Technopark of the Novosibirsk Academgorodok”, the Association “SibAkademInnovation”, the Non-Commercial Partnership "SibAkademSoft" and Administration of the Sovietsky district of Novosibirsk has been signed on February 24.
	About project competition carried out jointly by the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of Mongolia for 2011-2012. The Decision of the SB RAS Presidium № 51 of 07.02.2011.
	PRESIDENTIAL INSPECTION President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Academician Yu.S.Osipov has paid a working visit to the city of Tomsk on February 18-19.
	PROBLEM OF SEISMICITY OF KUZBASS - ESTIMATION OF SCIENTISTS The Expanded Session of the Presidium of Kemerovo Scientific Centre of the SB RAS titled “About seismic danger in the Kemerovo region and measures for its prevention” has taken place in Kemerovo on February 21.
	TO GET ADVANCED DEVELOPMENTS: FROM JAPAN - TO INSTITUTES OF THE SB RAS In early February the delegation representing the Japanese corporation “Nippon Steel” – the second in the world manufacturer of steel and rolled metal products, has been working in two scientific institutes of the SB RAS – the Khristianovich Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (Novosibirsk) and the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science (Tomsk).

	TYPICAL BIOGRAPHY Holiday filled with a deep sense – the Day of woman’s greatness, will start again. The adjustment to the celebratory wave is under way. There is an occasion and a real opportunity to promulgate the obvious and latent advantages of women, who in everyday life frequently do not receive adequate attention. And here at once they obtain a special meaning and paramount value.
	THE MOTTO OF WOMAN - TO FIND TIME FOR EVERYTHING... As far back as the XIX century, women-scientists had to assert their right to be engaged in scientific activity: in fact, at that time this sphere, like many others, was regarded as being strictly men’s one. Fortunately, in the beginning of the XXI century, the situation has radically changed and now women-scientists do not need to overcome similar barriers. In anticipation of March 8, we have decided to hold a Round Table devoted to women.
	VERY DIFFICULT PROBLEM The most difficult problem is to choose from a great number of remarkable women only a few of them and to tell their life stories.
	ACROSS GORNY ALTAI IN SEARCHES OF RELICTS Representatives of the weaker sex comprise the bigger half of employees of botanical gardens, though it’s not easy to work there, and in summertime they have to carry out expeditions to remote places to collect plants, each of which has its own value.
	ICHTHYOLOGY AND MATHEMATICAL MODELING Researcher of the Limnological Institute of the SB RAS Julia Petrovna Tolmacheva has become the winner in competition for grants of the President of Russian Federation 2011 in Section “Biology, Agricultural Sciences and Technologies of Alive Systems”.
	INNOVATIONS AND MANUFACTURE Deputy Director on innovations and applied research of the Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry of the SB RAS Ph.D. (Biology) Tatyana Alexandrovna Penzina has headed a new formation. For each development she tries to reveal the elements of innovation, searches and finds the ways of its implementation.
	HOW TO MAKE WATER PURE Many remarkable women are working at the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the SB RAS. On the eve of International Women's Day we would like to name two representatives of the wonderful collective.

	THE WORLD OF SPIRITS AND DREAMS OF LYUBOV ARBACHAKOVA The exhibition of Lyubov Arbachakova titled “Songs of Shoriyanka” is being held at the House of Scientists of the SB RAS for the first time. This surprising woman is an artist, poet, scientist-philologist, Ph.D., expert on the Shorsky epos. Her creativity has embodied the ancient soul of the people of Shoriya.

	SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PROFESSORS On February 8, the Solemn Assembly devoted to the Day of Russian Science has taken place in the Administration of Tomsk region.
	TO LISTVYANKA - ON ETERNAL PARKING With the beginning of this navigation, it is planned to deliver a deep-water device "Pisces-XI" to Listvyanka, where it should become an exhibit of Baikal Museum of the ISC of the SB RAS.
	COMPETITION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS On February 22, the Siemens Company has announced winners of the regional stage of the V All-Russian Competition of Scientific-Innovative Projects for high school students “Innovations for Steady Development” held in Novosibirsk.
	CONFERENCE OF YOUNG NATURALISTS Within the framework of events devoted to the Day of Science, the Annual City Scientific-Practical Conference of schoolchildren has been held at the Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals of the SB RAS.
