	ACADEMICIAN A.S.ISAEV IS 80 Congratulations from the SB RAS Presidium.
	DEVOTION TO FOREST Academician Alexander Sergeevich Isaev, biologist, leading forester ecologist, whose scientific, public and state activity is widely known in Russia and abroad, was 80 on October 26.
	30 YEARS IS THE AGE OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS In October it’s been 30 years since the date of foundation of the Special Designing Bureau of Computational Engineering of SB RAS. In 1990 it was transformed into the Design Technological Institute of Digital Techniques of SB RAS.
	HALF A CENTURY OF ACHIEVEMENTS AND VICTORIES From October 9 till October 15, the NSU Department of Physics celebrated its 50th anniversary. The basic event was the Conference “50 years of DP”.
	WISHES FOR STEADY DEVELOPMENT The NSU High College of Informatics has celebrated its twentieth anniversary on October 7.
	MEDALS NAMED AFTER V.A.KOPTYUG – TO THE IRKUTSK SCIENTISTS A large group of leading scientists from the Institutes and Presidium of ISC SB RAS have been awarded with medals named after Academician V.A.Koptyug in commemoration of his 80th birthday anniversary.
	FORUM ON NANOTECHNOLOGIES The 4-th International Forum on Nanotechnologies Rusnanotech-2011 has started its work in Moscow. Representatives of the Siberian Branch of RAS have taken an active part in its scientific and competition programs.
	FROM PALEOOCEAN TO CONTINENTS The meeting “Geodynamic Evolution of the Lithosphere of the Central Asian Mobile Belt: from Ocean to Continent” has been held at the Institute of the Earth's Crust of SB RAS on October, 18-21.
	RESULTS AND PROBLEMS IN COAL CHEMISTRY On October 13, at a session of the SB RAS Presidium, Director of the Institute of Coal Chemistry and Material Science of SB RAS has delivered a scientific report “Results and Problems in Coal Chemistry”.
