	HYDROGEN ENERGY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT By Decision of the Presidium of Belarus National Academy of Sciences, the 2011 Prize named after Academician V.A. Koptyug has been awarded for a series of scientific papers “Development of scientific grounds for creation of composite and nanostructured materials for advanced hydrogen energy systems and research of devices using them”.

	SAVED BY SIBERIA The Sukachev Institute of Forest of the SB RAS is 13 years older than the Siberian Branch. It was set up during the terrible war, in 1944. The name of its organizer and first director - an outstanding domestic biologist Academician Vladimir Nikolayevich Sukachev the Institute bears at the present moment.
	GOING AHEAD, WITHOUT STOPPING Alexandra Trushina, a graduate of the Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Combustion of SB RAS, has been awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
	AT THE EXHIBITION “MINERAL WEALTH-2012” Organizers of the 9th International Exhibition “Mineral Wealth - 2012. Investigation. Exploration. Extraction”, traditionally have dedicated it to the Day of Geologist. It has been held on April 3rd-5th in the All-Russian Exhibition Centre.

Stolypin to participate in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Siberian Village: History, Current Situation, Prospects for the Development”.
	GREAT REFORMER WHO HAS BEEN BEHIND TIME On the eve of the 150th birth anniversary of an outstanding statesman of the Russian Empire Pyotr Arkadievich Stolypin (1862-1911), there was a television program broadcast “Meetings at Vertkovsky” dedicated to Stolypin and his role in history.

	PORTRAIT GALLERY IN THE YEAR OF HISTORY A private viewing of Alexander Grigorievich Varnek (1782-1843) has been opened in the House of Scientists of SB RAS on May 16. The Exhibition was dedicated to the 230th birth anniversary of the artist.
	SPRING DREAM An experiment on pasqueflower (mayflower, snowdrop) cultivation in the Central Siberian Botanical Garden of SB RAS, initiated and executed by Tatyana Alexandrovna Pavlova, is being underway for nearly 40 years.
	ORNITHOLOGIST’S NOTES
