	NEW IDEAS FOR THE REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT On September 11, the Round Table “Social aspects of problems and prospects for Siberia development” has been held at the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering of SB RAS, wherein Plenipotentiary of the President of Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District V.A. Tolokonsky has discussed with scientists the above topic.
	ADVANCED GAMES FOR SPOTLESS MIND The Conference “Days of Geometry in Novosibirsk-2012” devoted to the 100th birth anniversary of Academician Aleksandr Danilovich Aleksandrov has been held at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics of SB RAS from August 30 through September 1.
	DESERVED RECOGNITION, OR A NEW DISCOVERY OF SIBERIA One of the world's most authoritative scientific meetings in the field of vacuum and plasma electronics - International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (ISDEIV 2012) took place in Siberia, the city of Tomsk.
	XVI INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON METHODS OF AEROPHYSICAL RESEARCHES The Conference has been held in Kazan from August 19 through August 24. Participants of the Conference were representatives of seventy Russian and six foreign organizations, involved mainly in researches in the field of Aerogasdynamics and development of new samples of aircraft and rocket equipment.
	THE FIRST CONFERENCE ON NANOTECHNOLOGY The First International Conference “Development of Nanotechnology: Challenges of international and regional scientific and educational centers” is being held as part of the strategic development program, on the basis of the Altai State University, from September 12 through September 15, 2012.
	INFORMATION SECURITY SECRETS The 11th Siberian Scientific School-Seminar with international participation “Computer Security and Cryptography” SIBECRYPT'12 has been held at the Institute for System Dynamics and Control Theory of SB RAS from September 3 through September 7.
	THE YOUNGEST AT SB RAS The United Scientific Council of SB RAS on Nano- and Information Technologies is the youngest one in the Siberian Branch. It was founded in June 2008 in order to bring the structure of SB RAS Councils in line with the structure of specialized branches of the Russian Academy of Sciences and to improve coordination of cutting-edge computer science and nanotechnology research.
