	A MISSING LINK – OR NEW CONTOURS? This year, the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Condensed Matter of the A.V. Nikolaev Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of SB RAS has celebrated its 10th anniversary, the decade which is in the life of any team is considered as the first truly serious one.
	TO COMPREHEND AND COPY THE CREATION OF NATURE The employees of Department of Cell Ultrastructure of SB RAS Limnological Institute, headed by Doctor of Sciences (Biology) Yelena Valentinovna Likhoshway, have been first in Russia, who started the works on decoding the Genome of the diatom Synedra acus, inhabiting Baikal.
	A WORLD, WHERE EVOLUTION IS CONTROLLED BY PARASITES “Life strategies of pathogens and creation of integrative plant protection products” - a report with such a title has been made at the meeting of the Presidium of SB RAS by Director of Institute of Systematics and Ecology of Animals of SB RAS Doctor of Sciences (Biology) Victor Vyacheslavovich Glupov.
	EXPRESSING THE MUTUAL INTEREST The Agreement on scientific and technological cooperation between the Siberian Branch of RAS and the Open Joint-Stock Company “Perm Scientific-Industrial Instrument Company” has been signed in Perm on November 9, as part of the Forum “Not a day without science”.
	WORK ON THE ACADEMGORODOK DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IS APPROACHING ITS FINAL STAGE Until the end of the year, Government of Novosibirsk region will approve the 2013-2017 program for the development of the Soviet District of Novosibirsk and research centers of RAS and RAMS branches.
	MULTICULTURALISM AS A WAY OF LIFE The II Baku International Humanitarian Forum “XXI century: hopes and challenges” has been held in Azerbaijan on October 4-5.
	FOUR FLAGSHIPS OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION The International Conference “International Education Day” has been held at the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of SB RAS on November 14. Representatives of organizations, working in Russia and represented in Novosibirsk, such as American Councils, DAAD, GOETHE Institut, Alliance Francaise, have participated in the Conference.
	NORTH ASIA RIDERS The All-Russian interdisciplinary scientific conference with international participation “Riders of North Asia and the birth of ethnicity: ethnogenesis and ethnic history of the Sakha” has been held in Yakutsk from October 24 through October 26.
	FORUM OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS The All-Russian Forum of young scientists “EREL-2012” has been held in Yakutsk from November 13 through November 16.
	YOUNG SCIENTISTS FOR REGIONAL ECONOMY The interregional Youth School-Seminar “Modeling the social, ecological and economic processes in the region” has been held at the Buryat Scientific Center of SB RAS on November 15.
	IRKUTSK ASTRONOMERS HAVE DISCOVERED A NEW ASTEROID The telescope “Master”, mounted on the astrophysical testing area of the Irkutsk State University in Tunkinsk valley, has discovered a previously unknown asteroid.
	THE BAIKAL ENDEMIC-BASED DRUG Scientist from Irkutsk has been working on development of drugs for various diseases, using cellular biotechnologies.
	ALL-RUSSIAN COMPETITION OF SCIENTIFIC AND INNOVATION PROJECTS The Russian extramural competition of research and innovation projects of students and young scientists in the basic directions of innovative development of the largest domestic companies in engineering and telecommunications facilities, will be held from November 16 through December 16, 2012.
	BATTLE OF INNOVATIVE IDEAS The III December Innovation Conference will be held by the Innovation Development Center of NSU on December 2.
	VACANCIES
	REINDEER IN BURYATIA At the end of August in 2005, in the very south of Irkutsk region, more precisely, after crossing the border into the Republic of Buryatia, we met wild reindeer. But this is an area with local abnormally warm and humid climate. On the southern slopes of the ridge, one can come across sub-tropical plants and wild grapes.
	BLUE GUESTS We are all sorry for the species of plants and animals, that have disappeared and have been registered in the Red Book. Therefore, it’s encouraging to know that “all of a sudden”, for example, swans and even pelicans are being discovered in the northern lakes, wherein they have never been seen before.
