	THE M.A.LAVRENTIEV FOUNDATION: PRESENTATION WITH THE FIRST PRIZES November 19, 2000 marks the centenary from the birthday of outstanding scientist in the field of mathematics and mechanics, organizer of science and public figure, Hero of Socialist Labor, the Lenin and USSR State Prize-winner Academician Michail Alekseevich Lavrentiev. On the occasion of this date the Siberian Branch has instituted the M.A.Lavrentiev Foundation for awarding the prizes of the same name.

In a week 35 persons finished the extension courses in the field of catalysts and catalytic processes after solemn receiving of appropriate documents have come back to their workplaces in complete reliance that they visited Novosibirsk not in vain.
