	WILL WE EVENTUALLY BE HEARD BY AUTHORITIES! One more protest action against the law “On the Russian Academy of Sciences, reorganization of the state academies of sciences and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” has been undertaken on Monday. Its initiator was the Commission on Science and Education of the Public Chamber of the Novosibirsk region, which held a public hearing on the above bill.
	THE BILL IS AIMED TO DESTRUCT THE SYSTEM OF RESEARCH IN RUSSIA One more walkout against the bill on the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences has taken place at the square in front of the Presidium of Irkutsk Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences on September 4. The organizers of the campaign were the young scientists of ISC of SB RAS.
	IS THERE A FUTURE FOR REGIONAL RESEARCH CENTERS? Today, the scientific community of the country is tied up with one anxiety caused by the adoption in the second reading of the draft law “On the Russian Academy of Sciences, reorganization of the state academies of sciences and Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation”.
	CONTROLLING THE SCIENCE For some time now, the Ministry of Science and Education too zealously pursues the policy on the controlling science (and education) in the direction incomprehensible to the ordinary scientists. This is done using the worst traditions of the Soviet directive management system.

	NO ONE WILL PASS UNNOTICED! The International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2013 has completed its work in Zhukovsky. A striking exhibit of this aviaforum has become the Mi-28N Night Hunter, which has amazing features and most high-tech equipment. A thermal imaging camera TPC-3 - a development of the Novosibirsk Division of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics of SB RAS “Technological Design Institute of Applied Microelectronics” has been mounted on this helicopter.
	UNIVERSAL THERMAL IMAGING DEVICE A thermal imaging device - cooled long-wave infrared thermal imaging camera - the joint development of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics and ZAO ELSIE, has been presented at the exhibition MAKS-2013 and caused a great interest.
	FORUM OF YOUNG HISTORIANS The 3rd All-Russian Youth Conference with elements of scientific school “Actual problems of historical research: a view of young scientists” has been held in Novosibirsk Academgorodok from August 21 through August 24.
	ALL TRENDS ARE IN DEMAND We have visited the Institute of Hydrocarbon Processing of SB RAS in Omsk Scientific Center and talked with the young scientists, who presented their research problems and hopes, about the life of the Institute.
	COMMERCIALIZATION OF SCIENCE IN THE INNOVATION SYSTEM: A VIEW OF THE WORLD BANK EXPERTS A lecture-seminar “Economic development through innovations”, dedicated to the commercialization of scientific research, and the state and development of innovative systems in Russia and abroad, has taken place at the SPSL of SB RAS on August 6.
